In 2018, we were appointed to develop proposals for an integrated scheme of thirty mixed-tenure homes and a variety of open spaces in the centre of the historic village of Ockley, Surrey.

The proposed layout wraps around a cluster of existing homes to form a back-to-back arrangement with defensible space and an attractive outlook to open countryside. The open space network includes an informal square, mini-orchard (reflecting an earlier use of the site), play area, attenuation pond and a restricted access ecology area.

With half of the site located in the village conservation area, ten different dwelling types have been developed to reflect the variety, treatment and character of traditional built form in the village.

A Pre-Application was submitted in 2018, an Outline Application in 2021 and a Full Application in 2022 with stakeholder engagement taking place between each stage.
